Wallhanging
Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a great holiday season. This is the last of my christmas stuff for this year. I thought this snowman was soo cute. It's a panel by Moda. They do such cute things. I just finished putting the binding on yesterday, so it was a little late. But it can hang all winter . Doesn't look to Christmasy. I hope you all have a great 2008.

Sleigh Ride
This is a wallhanging I finished. It is done with an embroidery machine. Each of the squares is embroidered then put together like a windowpane. The sashing is then added, then it was quilted and bound. It takes a lot of time, but the end product is well worth the time. The design is from anita-design. Her designs are great.

TP Pumpkin
Thought you might be able to use this idea for yourselves. It is just an orange fq, green fq for the stem, and a roll of toilet paper. Put the tp in the center of the orange fq, pull the 4 corners up and stuff into the paper core. Arrange the folds to your liking, but be sure the ends are still in the core securely. Roll the green fq into a roll, insert in center, arrange to your liking. These are fun to do, and very quick. They are a cute decoration for your bath.

Fall wallhanging
This is a fall wallhanging I just completed. It was also made with the munchies quilt pattern. The fabrics are from the fall back in time line by MOda.
I used redwork pumpkins and fall leaves for the quilting on it. They are from www.emblibrary.com. It was very easy to do. I love the colors in this line of fabric.
Quilt Pink quilttop
This is a picture of a quilt I am doing for the quilt pink program. All of the quilts donated will be auctioned off at the beginning of next year on Ebay. All proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen fund. The pattern I used for the quilt is called Munchies by Karen Montgomery of Quilt COmpany in Allison Park,PA. I used the charm pack and a jelly roll by Moda for the Pink squares. I have ribbons that will be embroidered on each white square. They were digitized for me by Gina Reddin of 'Splinters and Threads'.com. When it is quilted I will put up a pic of the completed quilt.

New purse
This is a purse I finished this weekend. It is te towne purse by Lazy girl. I love these patterns because they go together so easily. And they look very good, inside and out. If you have never tried a Lazy girl pattern, you should.
I like to put unique zippers in my purses. I got 2 separating zippers, one red, one yellow. Took a part of each of them, and combined them for a 2 color zipper. I think it adds that extra something that you won't find in ready made.

Yo-Yo flag
<
Here is a flag I made with the new clover yo-yo maker. It was alot of fun to do and really easy. These are great little gadgets for anyone thinking of getting one. They are also a good way to teach a child a little about sewing that doesn't take alot of time. Good for short attention spans. I don't know why the pic didn't turn out very well. I tried it on a white background and a brown one. Neither of them were great.

Passport tote
Backpack
This is a backpack I did this week. It is a little different from the pattern, but it's still pretty much the same as they did it. It looks small, but there is alot of room inside. It has a nice big pocket inside and outside. I put the cell phone pocket on the outside. (it was supposed to be inside). I love Cindy Taylor Oates patterns. She makes them very easy to follow.

Pillowcases
Have you ever wanted to make a pillowcase, but weren't sure of the measurements.?? I recently needed to make a travel size pillow, but couldn't find measurements anywhere, so I guessed. Lucky my guess was right.
You need 16x30 rectangle of the body of the pillowcase fabric.
9x30 rectangle for the heading.
I use piping on my pillowcase where the head and the body are sewn together.
To make a standard size pillowcase, you will need :
27'x42' for the body.
9'x42' for the heading .
42' of piping.
Queen and King size pillowcases:
36'x 42 for the body
9'x42 for the heading.
42' of piping.
If you would rather use a piece of fabric instead of piping, this would be cut at 2 1/2' x 42. Folded in half, and sewn the same as the piping would be.
These are great fun to make, and so easy..

Cake for my son's birthday
This is another one of my hobbies. Cake/cookie decorating. I prefer cookies, but I do cakes once in a while.
He is a Pittsburgh Penguin fan, so I decided to put the penguin on the cake. A very amateur drawing, but
I still like it. And he liked it.
I will be working on one for my husbands 50 th birthday coming up in March. This should be a fun one.
Munchie Quilt
This is a quilt top I recently finished. I still haven't decided how to finish it, but I have a few ideas. I have another quilt on my quilt frame currently, so I have a while to think about this one. I thought this one would be perfect for a game room. Just couldn't resist the munchie fabric. It's alot of fun.

This is my first post on my new blog. I've never done this before, so if I mess up, you will have to forgive me.
My hobbies are what will be included in the blog. I love quilting, machine embroidery, sewing of any kind, reading, ........ I think you get the idea.
