Christmas purse
I just finished a new purse for the Christmas season. It is a Miranda Bag. I just can't seem to get out of the groove for making these. lol. This one is a bit smaller than the regular size one. I took 2 inches off the width and the height of it. I have had the crazy patch embroidery done for a couple years and never found the 'right' thing to do with it. I'm glad I waited.

Grocery Bags
These are some grocery bags I've made for CHristmas presents. The green recycle one is mine. The other two are gifts. I still have a few more to make. I've been 'going green' since New Year's Day of this year. It's probably the only new years resolution I have ever made that I stuck with. Now, I'm trying to get others to do it too. So, these bags are perfect. They are very roomy. Plus, they fold up into a nice little package that is easier to carry around with you. The pattern is from
Oak Street Quilting and Embroidery.

What I've been working on
I have been working on the santa's ride tile embroidery scene by Anita-goodesign for the last few weeks. It is finally finished (the embroidery anyway). All I can say is thank goodness it is done. Talk about a nightmare. I have never had a problem with any Anita Goodesigns before, but this was a real doozy. Applique sections
weren't where they should be, colors were wrong. I just wish I had an email for them cause I would definitely tell them. I just hope the next one I decide to do isn't as messed up. They have a beautiful Nativity Scene I want to get done before Christmas. Cross my fingers and toes.................

Halloween Wallhanging

Halloween Wall Hanging
I just finished this wall hanging for Halloween. The prints that are in the Pumpkins Gone WIld line for Moda are really cute. The pattern is Crazy Jack from Pieces Of The Heart. The quilt top only takes one charm pack for the whole thing. The ricrac for the mouth is included in the pattern. You use one of the darkest squares for the nose. I made yo yo's for the eyes, but you can just use circles. I'm still looking for some orange stars to put in the centers of the yo yo's I'll probably end up just painting some orange.

New Fall purse
I just finished my new fall purse. I have had this fabric since last fall, but couldn't decide what to do with it. I think I found the perfect thing....
This is a Miranda bag. The pattern is one of my favorites from Lazy girl. There is so much room, and so many pockets. I love scarecrows, so they had to be on there. The candy corn buttons are from Debbie Mumm. I thought they were the perfect accent. I have 3 more, so I may put them on too.

Planner and wallet
These are a planner cover and wallet I made for my niece. This is her last year of college for teaching, so I thought these were appropriate. She will be doing alot of student teaching. The fabric is a Debbie Mumm print from Joann's. The wallet is an embroidery in the hoop project from ANitaDesigns. They have such cute projects. The planner cover wasn't a pattern. I just measured the size of the planner, and went from there.

Halloween table runner
I found this really cute fabric by Debbie Mumm at my local Joann's. The original pattern for the table runner uses a border fabric that goes the length of the fabric. This border print goes the width of the fabric. It's very easy to adapt to using widthwise instead of lengthwise. Here is the original pattern: http://www.ttfabrics.com/images/patterns/StripedRunner.pdf
First, and most important. Make sure you get enough of the fabric in order to have 3 of the same border print. I bought 1 1/2 yds, which was plenty. It's really important to have 3 of the same border ,or it won't work. You need to use the 60 degree triangle on the 3rd border piece. Fold the fabric in half, right sides together, and cut out the triangle. You need to have a total of 4 of these triangle.
With the other two border prints, lay them right sides together. Using your 60 degree ruler, cut one side of the triangle off on each end of the fabric.
Now, complete the tablerunner with the instructions from the origanal runner pattern.
Thanks to Karen Montgomery for this pattern. I love it, and have quite a few of them for all holidays and seasons.

Snowman wallhanging
I love snowmen, so when I saw this wallhanging. I knew I had to have it. Snowmen are a major part of my christmas decorating. but this one can stay up for the entire winter. It doesn't scream Christmas. All I did was add a couple borders to the center panel, quilt it, put the binding on, and it was done. These panels make it so easy to have a really cute wallhanging.

Potholders
I decided to try one of the potholders I have been meaning to get to for a few weeks. I don't know why I was putting it off. They are the easiest things ever. I ordered the pattern from Fabricdepot.com. They are so cute. I live in Pittsburgh Steeler country, so I'm going to make some in steeler fabric for all those tailgaters. One of a kind potholders are important ..... lol

Challenge purse
This is a purse I did for the Lazy girl yahoo group challenge. You were supposed to make a lazy girl pattern that you had never used, so I chose the 'Veronica'. It is a very cute little purse. Nice pockets inside. It's a little small for my taste, but would be great for a night out when you don't need all your 'stuff'. If done in a plain fabric, it would make a good purse for a wedding or another formal type event.

Diaper bag
I just finished working on this diaper bag. It could be used as a tote bag also. There are five nice size pockets inside. The pattern is from Nancy Halvorsen's Winsome baby book. It is really an easy pattern to follow. There are alot of really cute things in the book. The fabric is Malibu Monkey's from Moda. It was just too cute not to do something with it.

New wonder wallet
This is a wonder wallet I made for an online swap. If you have never made a wonder wallet, you should. They are the cutest little things, and you wouldn't believe all the stuff you can fit in them. The pattern is a Lazy Girl pattern. Joan makes all of her patterns very easy to follow and understand. I have made so many of these, I don't need the pattern anymore. I hope the recipient likes what I chose for her. The fabric says Summertime. And the popsicle buttons were perfect.

Mother's Day Walk for the Cure
We did the 'Walk for the Cure' for Mother's day this year. If you have never done one of these before, you should. It is sad, but also inspiring to see how many people breast cancer affects. My mom passed away in 2001 from this terrible disease, and my sister was diagnosed in 2005. She is doing ok now. Myself, my son, daughter, and son's gf all went for it this year. Even though the rain, it was worth it.
Hope everyone had a great mother's day.

Hi, this is the purse I just completed for summer. When I saw these fabrics I could imagine this purse. Plus the fabrics just say summertime. It is made with the Lazy Girl Miranda pattern. It is so easy to do, and it has lots of pockets for all your stuff. If you are new to purse making, Lazy Girl are the patterns to try. She makes them very easy to do. Her instructions are great.

Happy St. Patricks Day
Hi everyone,
Hope you all have a great St. Patricks Day. I am Irish and proud of it. I even have a beautiful redhead daughter.
An Irish Blessing -
Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

New Quilt
Hi,
This quilt has been in the making for over 2 years, and it is finally done. I loved the geometric look of the pattern when I first saw it. The quilt top went together fairly easy. It was the hand quilting that took over a year to finish, then another 6 months to get the binding on. I'm really glad it is finally finished because it looks really nice on the bed. Now I have to make a pillow sham. Hopefully that won't take a year.

Valentine Wallhanging
I just love the valentine prints Moda came out with this year. They are so cheerful and I love the colors. This is a wallhanging I just finished with a panel, and a charm pack. I used yo-yo's for some of the flower centers. The center is stippled, and the outer border has heart embroidery done on them.
